略歴
1939 兵庫県 神戸市に生まれる
1955 三菱重工業神戸造船所に勤めながら美術活動を行う
1965 具体美術協会員となり 1972 年解散まで参加
1985「あたりまえのこと」というテーマで制作を始める
1998 定年後は年間約100回に及ぶ個展、グループ展、 パフォーマンスなどを行う
2002 堀尾貞治あたりまえのこと / 芦屋市立美術博物館 32 日間のパフォーマンス
2005 横浜トリエンナーレ 2005/ 連続 82 日間のパフォーマンス (堀尾貞治 + 現場芸術集団「空気」)

1939 Born in Kobe City, Hyogo, Japan
1955 Performed art activities while working at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Kobe Shipyard
1965 Became a member of the Gutai Art Association (Gutai Bijutsu Kyokai) and stayed with the group until its dissolution in 1972
1985 Adopted the concept of “A Matter of Course (Atarimae-no-koto)” as his constant theme
1998 After retirement, presented work in about 100 solo and group exhibitions, events and other performances annually
2002 Sadaharu Horio: Ordinary Things / Ashiya City Museum of Art and History: Daily performances for 32 days
2005 Yokohama Triennale 2005 (Sadaharu Horio + On-Site Art Squad “KUKI”) : Daily performances for 82 consecutive days

海月通信と海月文庫のご紹介
海月通信の “堀尾貞治 MEMO シリーズ” 大阪の淀川区にある ネット古書専門店 海月文庫( 無店舗 )の事務所に 2000年に併設されたアートスペースは、 日常生活の中で楽しむ事ができる作品「生活美術」を中心に活動している。海月文庫が隔月刊で” 海月通信” という情報紙を発行しており、 堀尾貞治は海月文庫での個展や合同展にも連続出品していた流れから、海月通信に連載の形で 2002年4月発行の第14号から、2018年11月発行の第114号までの100回にわたり”MEMO シリーズ”を寄稿していました。
第14号～84号(2013.11）の前半は 1980年代に書き留めていたものから、その時の気持ちに添った文章の寄稿で、第85号～114号(2018.11)の後半からは “新 Memo” シリー ズとして、その時日常に感じた考えを書き留めて寄稿しています。
文章は、普段の口語調の文体そのままで、 本人の方言や言い回しなども堀尾貞治らしさを感じてもらう為にそのまま掲載されております。
“Sadaharu Horio MEMO Series” of Kurage Tsushin
The art space at Kurage Bunko, an online used bookstore located in Yodogawa Ward in Osaka City,
was established in 2000 to present “daily art,” artwork that can be enjoyed in ordinary lives. Kurage
Bunko also publishes a bi-monthly newsletter, “Kurage Tsushin.” Sadaharu Horio held solo
exhibitions and participated in every group show at Kurage Bunko Art Space, and he wrote a series
of one hundred articles called the “MEMO Series” to be included in Kurage Tsushin, from issue
number 14 published in April 2002 to issue 114 in November 2018.
In the first half, from issues #14 to 84 (November 2013), the text was taken from his writings of the
1980s, and in the latter, from #85 to 114, the New Memo Series, the posts are what he jotted down
about his feelings in daily life.
He wrote these posts casually as in the way he would talk, with a Kobe dialect, and with some of
his own original words.
