A Flow, a Line

ものごとを行うのに、その物事のスジを間違えると動きがとまる。スジとは物事。会社でも学校でも、その組織等には必ずたての線のようなものが有り、そのたて線を横からひっぱると組織の形体が変化する。
家族でも親がおって子供がおって、ネコがいるが、必ずネコを飼うのに親の許可がいる。話し合いや会議がいるのも、その筋のような事をきちんとして家族の有り方や持ち場を確認する。会社でも学校でも店でも駅でもどこでも、組織が組まれているところはその場の長がいて、そことのトラブルや又は相談事をするのに誰でもよいと云うのでなく、長に話をしてその下の部署とか又その下の責任者、というように話が流れていく。又逆に、下から話をすると、その上に又上にと話を通してのち、返事がくるというようになっているがこれと同じで、そのものそのものに、合った力とか量、時間というものも、筋というか流れの中に組み込まれて。1995年7月20日 MEMOより
A Flow, a Line
When doing things, the movement stops if we mistake the “line.” Line means the true nature of the things and events. In structures such as companies and schools, there is always a vertical line; and if we pull that line sideways, the shape of the structure changes.
In families, there are parents, children, and maybe a cat; and you need permission from your parents if you want to have that cat; you need conversations and meetings to set the line straight and to confirm the position with the way that each family member exists. In companies, schools, stores, stations, and other places where a structure is built-in, there is a leader of that place, and if there is trouble or any concerns, you talk to the boss. Then, the talk flows to the department segment below and flows to the boss of a lower segment, and so on. Oppositely, when the talk comes from below, it flows in a line above and above, and then a reply comes back down. In the same way, the force, the amount, and the time that are suitable for each one is built through a line or flow.
